The Blanton Museum of Art 


The collection of Latin American art features over 2,000 works and reflects the enormous diversity of artistic tradition in the region. More than 600 artists from Mexico, South and Central America, and the Caribbean are represented in the collection. The Blanton's collection is one of the oldest, largest and most comprehensive collections of Latin American art in the country

The San Antonio Museum of Art has one of the most comprehensive collections of Latin American art in the United States. Housed in the Nelson A. Rockefeller Center for Latin American Art, which opened to the public in 1998, the Center offers an overview of over 3,000 years of artistic expression from Mexico, Central and South America, and many countries of the Caribbean.

molaa's mission is to educate the public about contemporary Latin American fine art (by artists who have lived and worked in Latin America since WWII) through the presentation of a significant permanent collection, dynamic exhibitions and related cultural and educational programs.

The Museum of Modern Art has been collecting art from Latin America and the Caribbean since the early 1930s, and it has become the leading institution collecting such art in the world. Through its Latin American and Caribbean Fund and numerous exhibitions and educational programs, the Museum continues today to foster interest in promoting and studying Latin American and Caribbean art and culture. A selection of over 50 works from MoMA’s unparalleled collection of Latin American and Caribbean art, including paintings, sculptures, drawings, photographs, and prints, traces significant stylistic trends and movements found in works from this region from early modern to contemporary.
